Weight loss is easy... when it's not the goal
Oh I'm losing weight, but who's keeping track?

Weight loss is easier when it's not the goal.
I've tried losing weight before: Long-term fasting (in my case, starving myself), taking questionable diet pills from the Internet, going vegan, and doing anything under the sun except a healthy diet.
Oh, I've gain all the weight back, ten-fold.
This time around, I've lost 15 pounds. Not effortless, but it was easy.
Easy in the sense that I didn't really start my journey looking to lose weight. I started to eat better and work out because I have a goal: Run the 2024 NYC Marathon.
So me losing weight is a happy side effect of my goal.
My primary goals: Build a solid running base and train for the NYC Marathon.
This meant:
- Running regularly
- Cross-training and strength training
- Eating well
- Staying hydrated
- Taking supplements
And guess what? I'm doing the work happily without worrying about how much weight I've lost.
My main concern is to get more strong and mobile.
I think I've found my happy place.
(I hope you also find something that will give you a happier goal with the side effect of better health.)
