Training
I have 18 months until the 2024 NYC Marathon.
I'm using the first year building a solid base with plenty of wiggle room between programs (in case of sickness, injury, or life just happening).
Slow and steady wins the race.
Note: I'm a beginner. I don't know what I'm doing 😂 I'm going by what expert practitioners are recommending (aka Hansons' Luke Humphrey, None to Run's Mark Kennedy). This plan is subject to change as I learn more and as I gain more experience.
The programs I'm planning to use:
- None to Run (12 weeks) — Culminates with being able to run 25 minutes straight, not counting the distance. IN PROGRESS
- None to Run 5K (8 weeks) — Culminates with being able to run a 5K, not counting the time. Interval training included.
- None to Run 10K (8 weeks) —  Culminates with being able to run a 10K. Interval training included.
- Hanson Beginner or From Scratch Marathon Training (18 weeks) — for first attempt... I'm considering the Jersey City Marathon.
- Hanson Advanced Marathon Training (18 weeks) — for NYC Marathon if I can do it.
