The Summer of Zero Runs
I can't run
I haven't run in a week or so.
It's been torture.
The summer heat has basically stopped me from running.
Why not run in the morning? I can't. My husband works and I can't leave the kids alone in the morning to run.
Why not run in the afternoon? It's in the high 90s until 9 PM. I don't want a heat stroke.
Why not run in the evening? I live in NYC and have better sense than that.
Why not get a treadmill? I'd like some funding please.
So what will happen to all my training? I honestly don't know. Maybe I have to start over.
It's the price to pay for health and safety.
So what now?
I'll be focusing on my diet and lifting weights. These are things I can do for now until the weather is better.
It sucks that this weather has cut my training, but it doesn't mean I'm giving up. I'll lose weight, gain muscle, and basically be ready when the time comes.
