Cross-training: Cycling

I finally found a cross-training that suits my life, preferences, and goals.

A few days ago I mentioned I'm using Pvolve for my cross-training.

It's awesome in theory (and I have $300 worth of Pvolve equipment to prove it), spoke with a trainer too, and even did one workout. But maaaaan if I'm being honest it's such a hassle for me.

We don't have the space so I don't even know what I was thinking buying all that stuff in the first place.

Laying out the mat, prepping the right equipment, following what the pretty ladies are saying, stretching my neck coz I have to keep on looking if I'm doing the right move... it was killing me (and my neck).

So I've decided to put Pvolve aside for now.

I've read many articles about the best cross-training, and cycling comes up 90% of the time.

So I rode our dusty exercise bike today.

Got about 30 minutes in — including setup and the actual ride, courtesy of the impeccable Kaleign Cohen.

The whole process was easy too.

I laced up my shoes like I do for running. Got on the bike. And off I went.

This is something that I can do early in the morning without disturbing anybody (especially the kids), without much effort to prep, and I just go for it.

And it suits my temperament, preferences, life situation, and goals.

So I'm done trying to force a workout that's hard to even begin. Training is tough enough as it is, so I want to make it easy on the other parts, particularly the starting part.

Glad this part of my training is sorted out.

Oh, and speaking of easy, I ordered a padded seat for the bike. That thing was uncomfortable at best.

What type of cross-training do you do?
